Black Friday has passed and now the Holiday shopping season has begun! This time of year can be really magical but it can also be suuuuper stressful. One way to ease the stress of holiday shopping is to shop local this season! To make this even easier you can now turn to the alchemy hour blog for at least one rad gift idea each week leading up to the holidays!

These might be my favorite gift item that we've gotten in so far. Each round ornament opens up to an adorable pair of socks in a really fun print! After you take the socks out, you can replace them with something from your travels - creating a commemorative ornament for next year!

Rockers and RVCAs

I spent the whole day yesterday unpacking, checking in and placing our newest shipment from Volcom and I must say I'm crazy about the new product! Along with some edgy basics and the always rad leopard print items we've seen so far we also received a number of pieces in Volcom's "Space Rocker" print! Somewhat tribal without being overly trendy, this print truly "rocks"!

As if our newest Volcom collection wasn't exciting enough, we also received our first few pieces from our newest line - RVCA (pronounced RUCA)! RVCA has it's roots in American workwear and aims to provide function and fashion for every day and every situation. A member of the RVCA team is also responsible for discovering Charlotte Free (that rad model with the pink hair you've seen EVERYWHERE these days). Needless to say, the folks at RVCA can always be counted on to bring quality, functionality and fashion with an edge to your wardrobe.

New Spoon

I'm sure we can all agree that by "new spoon" he meant "new spoon RING". Obviously :)


We just got our holiday shipment of Silver Spoon Rings from Dan K Artistry and they are just as lovely as ever!! At just $23 for a rad piece like these rings - you don't have to have been born with a silver spoon to wear one on your finger!

New Threads

Anyone who has bought some of our basics by Threads for Thought would agree that they are some of the best around (so soft and cozy!) so, naturally, their updated basics are a no brainer! Great style AND comfort?!! Threads for Thought has truly mastered the best of both worlds.

The Backstage Lace Thermal:

A heavier thermal material and adorable floral lace at the shoulder makes this piece a rad update of a previous T4T top that sold out in just days. (The former Free People girl in me is swooning over this one..)

The Socorro Poncho:

LOVE THIS. This would-be basic poncho features an attached length of fabric that can be wrapped around as a scarf or made in to a really pretty slouchy hood. Also, the material is so soft - it's like wearing a light blanket around!!

In the Details

We're just starting to see the first of our Holiday Collection by QSW and I am SO in love!! One of my favorite things about the QSW line is the attention to little details on each item. There's always something that's super special and sets these pieces apart.

the sort of fishnet/ chevron look at the neckline, sleeve and hem makes an otherwise sweet and simple white dress a little edgy and different

I love the very victorian button detail at the sleeve!!

Mosaic Tile Silk Tank $74

besides the fact that this tank is made of silk, which adds great texture to an outfit, they added this adorable pleating on the neckline which makes it super easy to dress up
